Honest Answers and Affordable Options in an Industry FULL of Hot Air.

How Do HVAC UV Lights Work?

HVAC UV lights are installed within your home’s heating and cooling system, where ultraviolet light can be used to help control certain microorganisms in areas of the system exposed to the light.

Unlike a portable air cleaner that only treats the air in a single room, HVAC indoor air quality products can work as part of your home’s central heating and cooling system.

The type of product that’s appropriate for your home depends on your HVAC system, indoor air quality concerns, and what you’re trying to accomplish.

That’s why we believe the first step is understanding your needs—not simply choosing an accessory.

Whole-Home Air Purification

For homeowners looking for more than a traditional HVAC UV light, whole-home air purification systems can provide another option for addressing indoor air quality.

These systems are installed directly into your home’s HVAC system and are designed to work as air circulates through the system and throughout your living space.

Foskey Heating & Air offers whole-home air purification options, including REME HALO, and can help you understand how different indoor air quality products work and which option may make sense for your home.

REME HALO Whole-Home Air Purification

The REME HALO in-duct air purifier is installed within your home’s HVAC duct system and is designed to provide whole-home air purification as your heating and cooling system circulates air throughout the home.

Rather than relying on a stand-alone air purifier in an individual room, an in-duct system works with your central HVAC equipment.

If you’re considering a REME HALO or another indoor air quality product, we’ll explain how the system works, where it is installed, ongoing maintenance requirements, and what you can realistically expect from it before you make a decision.

Is a UV Light or Air Purifier Right for Your Home?

Not every home has the same indoor air quality concerns, and we don’t believe every homeowner needs the same HVAC accessories.

You may want to consider an indoor air quality evaluation if you’re concerned about:

• Indoor air quality

• Musty or unpleasant odors

• Microbial growth around HVAC components

• Airborne particles

• Keeping HVAC components cleaner

• Improving your home’s overall air quality

We’ll listen to what you’re experiencing, look at your existing HVAC system, and explain the available options.

If a UV light or whole-home air purification system makes sense, we’ll tell you why. If it doesn’t, we’ll tell you that too.

Indoor Air Quality Is More Than Air Purification

Living in the South Carolina Lowcountry presents some unique indoor comfort challenges—especially when it comes to humidity.

UV lights and air purification are only part of the indoor air quality picture. Depending on what’s happening inside your home, solutions may also include improved filtration, HVAC maintenance, ductwork improvements, or whole-home dehumidification.

Instead of focusing on a single product, Foskey Heating & Air can help you look at your home’s overall comfort and indoor air quality needs.
